Wonderful! A great location to walk around in for the day. The historical digs are informative and cool. Definitely need to visit the Traditional Kitchen - this is the highlight of the Colony!
Great historical active archaeological area. There is a museum on the site as well. It is a great area to see and envision how the early 1600's settlement looked like. The early stone pier has been uncovered in recent years and the tides once again come right up to it. There are a few foundations uncovered as well. The guides are quite helpful and knowledgeable. With a short drive and a bit at a hike, the Ferryland Lighthouse is located here as well.
An excellent tour guides interperpreted the daily lives and activities of this very early settlement that dates back to 1621. The ongoing archiological work is fascinating.
We really enjoyed our trip to Ferryland, beautiful area. Also had the best bowl of fish chowder of my trip in the little local restaurant that is painted all green and near the gift shop.
Lovely interpretation center. Great spaces for conference that requires multiple rooms to concurrently deliver presenters. It has an amazingly beautiful setting where you are able to walk the beach and sit with a cup of tea.
